Welcome to your EDSSA website

The AGM will be held on Tuesday 31 January at Caldwell Hall, Torrance at 8pm. Please ensure that your club is represented to keep the meeting quorate. Any clubs not in attendance will be fined.

Please ensure that your application forms are sent in NOW as the deadline is fast approaching.

Please download the Team Registration document for 2012 from the Document Download tab.

The good news is that this form will cover the full year from March to November. Any changes to coach or coach details should be advised as it happens throughout the year to allow EDSSA to maintain its database up to date.

The draft Minutes from the meeting held on 21 November 2011 are now available to read. Click on the Meetings/AGM tab to view Minutes now.

It was pleasing to see the yellow jackets being worn by the vast majority of coaches with one or two being reminded to put them on. The yellow jacket is as much a part of the coaches kit than the ball, whistle and stopwatch. Thank you for your co-operation.

The monitoring form is now uploaded to the website under Document Download tab.

East Dunbartonshire has a strict zero tolerance policy on dogs and smoking in their schools and football venues. It is a condition of our lets that no dogs are allowed at venues and no smoking inside the venue perimeter. For the avoidance of doubt that means anywhere inside the school or sports venue grounds.

We want good behaviour emphasised to everyone associated with EDSSA football on and off the pitch. Coaches need to be good role models and parents are there to support and encourage, not berate and abuse! Inappropriate behaviour and bad language anywhere on or around the pitch must be stamped out immediately by the coaches. Stop games if you feel it is appropriate to do so for your kids safety in line with Child Protection policies and bring to the attention of your Committee by e-mail within 3 days.

It has come to the Committee's attention that yellow jackets are not been worn by all of the coaches in the cage at Kirkintilloch Fun 4s. Everyone has a responsibility to police this as a group. NO ADULT IS ALLOWED INSIDE THE CAGE WITHOUT A YELLOW JACKET AND SHOULD BE POLITELY CHALLENGED and asked to provide their name, club they represent. This information should be forwarded to Brian. If they do not provide this information they should be asked to leave the cage. This is for the protection and safety of the children.

If there are further reports then the relevant clubs will be fined and possibly banned from participating following disciplinary action from Committee.

Please advise Brian Martin by e-mail of club and coach name if they were not given a yellow jacket.

Please click on your age group "Division"
then "Fixtures"
then "More Detail"
to get your fixture, time, venue and allocated pitch.

As their are odd number of teams in some Divisions please give plenty of notice if your team cannot play so that the idle team have a chance to take up the fixture.

The final EDSSA meeting of the season is due to take place at Caldwell Hall, 16 Campsie Road, Torrance on Monday 29 November 2010 at 7.45pm prompt. The Agenda is to include a look forward to next years Player Pathway and in particular 1999's going to 11-a-side, 2003/4's Development 4's and the aspect of supplying referees to games on a trial basis. Every club needs to be represented and Fines will be issued to non attendees if a club is not represented.

Each coach of the 2002 age group teams is responsible for ensuring correct footwear is used on Science Park pitches per Martin Lyons e-mail reissued 26 Oct. Any team reported by SP staff for not adhering to this will have their fixtures withdrawn.

A new season started on Saturday 28 August and we have four separate incidents reported at three venues in three different age groups and a no show as well.

In order to see at a glance how many games your team has played and quick details on your next fixture, I have keyed 0-0 results or marked free weeks as cancelled. Your next fixture will now be at the top of the fixtures link on your age group web page.

It has come to the attention of your Committee that some teams have been publishing results and/or match reports in the local press. This is against SYFA rules for non competitive football and the practice must cease immediately.

Your club websites are now available to view from the Club Links tab.

Please advise if you have a club website that is not on our list or if you have some information you would like to add to your club tab.

A series of questions were raised at the AGM and clarification was sought from SYFA. These were categorised together and responses have been received.

All member clubs must attend to form a quorum to agree. Please click on Meetings/AGM tab to see full amended Constitution

A disgraceful turnout of only 5 out of 16 member clubs meant that the EDSSA meeting of 17 May could not progress due to lack of numbers to form a quorum. Fines will be issued to all clubs not in attendance.

So much for Spring as the snow decimated the playing card and stopped the Fun 4's getting up and running. The good news is that there was plenty of communication and the website was updated at 7.50am and again at 9.25am with details of pitches off as we got reports in.

THIS IS YOUR REFERRAL POINT WHENEVER THERE IS A DOUBT DUE TO WEATHER RELATED ISSUES.

1st Lenzie are unavailable to play their fixture this weekend so North Kelvin United have stepped in to provide opposition for EDFC at Merkland Pitch B (10am) to ensure nobody misses out. Well done to them and thanks.

The next EDSSA meeting will be held in Caldwell Hall, 16 Campsie Road, Torrance from 7.30pm.

All clubs to attend.

The Draft Minutes for last meeting held on 31 January can be found by clicking the Meeting / AGM tab above.

Draft Minutes from the Meeting held on Monday 28 March are now available in the Meetings section.

Minutes here

The new Registration Form will be posted on the website in the next few days. Please download and send back as soon as possible.

The draft Minutes fron the meeting in June will also be released by Thuesday 7 July.

Please complete the attached Form and e-mail to brian.martin7392@ntlworld.com BY TUESDAY 2 AUGUST to guarantee your team entry to Autumn 2011 Event.

Don't delay, DO IT NOW!!!

All coaches and active adult team members MUST attend the COMPULSORY In-Service day at Caldwell Hall, 16 Campsie Road, Torrance on Saturday 20 August between 9.30am and 11.30am.

All coaches named in the EDSSA Registration Form for each individual team together with First Aiders and other adults who actively take part in coaching at training and match days must attend this session which will be taken by Alan Taylor, SFA Development Manager, Central Region.

Failure to attand may result in fixtures for your team being withdrawn until a Disciplinary meeting can be convened to understand the reasons for non attendance. Whilst 100% attendance would be welcomed, there will be some valid reasons why a small minority of the EDSSA coaches may be unable to attend. If this relates to you then please advise Brian Martin immediately by e-mail and prior to the event, as to the reason for not being able to attend.

Following a further search of SYFA Registration information the following teams were found not to be registered with SYFA:-
Campsie 2000s, 2001s, 2002s, 2003s
North Kelvin United 2002s

The upshot of this is that I have had to pull fixtures from these teams which unfortunately means that the teams who are SYFA registered have had to have their fixtures rearranged or in the case of Baljaffray Thistle 2000s, their fixture has been cancelled altogether as there is no spare team available to play.

Re-arranged fixtures as follows:-
2000s - Baljaffray Thistle v Campsie cancelled - no replacement fixture
2001s - Campsie v Petershill BC A cancelled - new fixture is Petershill BC B v Petershill BC A at Wester Cleddens Primary kick off 9.15am
2001s - EDFC v NKU Athletic and EDFC Utd v NKU now reinstated
2002s - EDFC Th v NKU and Campsie v Rosebank United both cancelled - new fixture is EDFC Thistle v Rosebank United at Merkland Pitch A kick off 10am
2003s - Campsie will be excluded from Fun 4s until SYFA registration is in place. Westerton United are noe cleared to play.

This is in relation to an alarming trend in foul mouthed bad behaviour on and off the pitch. Remember with the advent of video phones, any incident captured and relayed to your Committee WILL result in the strongest possible action being taken by your Committee.

Fixtures are being uploaded to the website over the next day or so. Please note venue and time each week and do not rely that a fixture you have on 26 November will still be the same time and venue as it is now.

Please note that the venue at Wester Cleddens allows for time from 9am to get the nets from the janitor to put up and the last two teams must remove and return them to the janitor at the end of the game.

Refer to Fun 4s or Soccer 7s tabs for further information on venues and times.

Club Development and Fun 4's have new items on their web pages for you to check out.

Seasons Greetings from your EDSSA Committee to all football volunteers and also to the young footballers playing under EDSSA banner

There will be monitors from SFA at the venues this Saturday handing out Surveys to capture information on children playing football in our league. This is happening in leagues across Scotland and your Committee should be obliged if you would co-operate with the monitors and provide the information that they are looking for as this will help drive decisions relating to funding requirements, facilities and so on which are important to all of us going forward.

Alan Watt stepped down from the Committee at the AGM after many years service to EDSSA. In appreciation of his length of service to the association and its member clubs, Alan was presented with an incribed plaque and bottle of Jura Malt whisky at the meeting.
